Description

This essence is available for purchase and shipping in the United States only, while supplies last.

This essence is energetic medicine. Made with intention, in ceremony, and with guidance from the spirits & ancestors, it contains the energetic & vibrational imprints of stones, plants, flowers, environments, and land. The stories, wisdom, & witnessing are passed to us as powerful and supportive medicine for emotional & energetic healing. (This particular blend was made in guidance with my ancestors and is here to offer support while moving through intense grief, processing difficult emotions tied to events in the past/present/future, and of forging deeper connections within ourselves and with each other while we navigate letting go.)

You will receive a 1 oz dosage bottle. Suggested dosage is 4 drops as much as 4 times a day or as desired/needed. You can take a couple of drops orally directly on your tongue, in a glass of water, or you can place on pressure points (ie. your wrists or on your head). Trust your intuition & tracking to guide you as you connect with the supportive energy of this medicine.

Ingredients: Pure spring water, brandy

Essences:

  • obsidian: The image that first came to me while meditating with the particular fleck of obsidian that this medicine is made from were the black, monstrous hands of the Bulgasal (meaning “impossible to kill”), haunted, immortal beings from the Korean drama Bulgasal: Immortal Souls, based on Korean folklore, in which we witness the cycles of wounding and reincarnation, the consequences of inherited trauma and obsessive grudges. The hands signify the otherness of these immortal beings, their hands capable of swift and brutal harm, but also transformation, emotional attachment, and great love. This medicine is about cutting through to the truth of things, as the Diamond Sutra in Buddhism urges us to cut away our limited notions of “self,” “human being,” “living beings,” and “life span,” and to see the interconnected nature of our existence, our woundings, our traumas, interconnected both in space and time (and beyond). A Zen koan asks, “Where were you before your grandmother was born?” This is the medicine of working with hands; what are your hands capable of? This is the medicine of clarity and clear vision, of transforming and releasing deep woundings, ancient traumas, and obsessions. What is the ancestral history that still pulls you back? Obsidian dissolves the lingering pain and suffering from broken trust, and helps you to let go of the past. How long has it been since you allowed yourself to cry?
  • snowdrops: Snowdrops have always caught my eye, their brief but anticipated existence, the first to bloom before spring. I find them both sad and hopeful. Two texts that haunt this essence are Theresa Hak Kyung Cha’s Dictee and the Korean Princess Bari (바리대기) myth. A message from the snowdrops: It is okay to go on even when you know death is imminent. The grief is in the beauty that death is near, that one can so tenderly open up the most vulnerable parts of their self, though always gazing down, towards the earth, knowing that is where you are soon headed. The performance of death. The straddling of realms. We read everything in the environment differently once these flowers appear. The white as a memory of the snow and ice that have melted. The white as a shroud in readiness of death. Your whole existence is a death ritual. Inside this ritual is love.
  • mugwort: In this medicine, the mugwort acts as a support for processing some of the emotions that the other stones/plants may bring up for you. Mugwort aids in dreaming, intensifying spiritual connections (with your personal spirit guides, ancestors, and living beings around you), as well as connecting you to renewal and cycles of being (it is often one of the first plants to appear in spring and grows persistently). This plant also hearkens back to the Korean creation myth of 웅녀 (Ungnyeo), the bear who survived on 20 cloves of garlic & a bundle of mugwort in a cave to become a human and eventually mother the people of Korea.
  • Korean pine (잣나무) @ Bukhansan (북한산)
  • stones/shells/ocean/environment @ Pohang (구룡포,  포항시)
  • volcanic rock from Hallasan (한라산) / Jeju Island
